In 2011 The Confederated Tribes of Siletz chartered the first not-for-profit corporation called the Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society (STAHS) to support and promote the practice, conservation and restoration of the tribal cultures of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians through sharing and education.
The all volunteer board of directors has worked tirelessly to raise funds for the construction and operation of a Cultural Center with a museum component to be located on Government Hill in Siletz adjacent to the existing Community Center.
Having reached their capital campaign goal, a ground breaking ceremony was held on March 11, 2023 at the construction site for the Siletz Tribe’s museum aptly named “A Place for the People” or “Ghee Dee Ne Dvn.”
In August of 2022 STAHS refurbished an existing building on the main street in Siletz that now houses a gift shop and mini museum. The shop will be staffed and open to the public on a regular basis in the near future.
