Toledo is a working community that closely tracks Oregon pioneering traditions. Since its early history, Toledo’s industries have included logging, wood and paper/pulp mills, boat building and ship repair, farming and fishing. These industries are still present, as well as a local arts community with fine art galleries and working artists studios.
Toledo is an inland coastal community with a deep-water channel that meanders out to the Pacific ocean through the Yaquina Bay. The Port of Toledo re-opened a shipyard in February 2011 that hosts a strong vessel repair business. We have daily public transportation available to Newport, as well as inland.
Toledo is a supportive community, a place where you can follow your own dream.
